MG City Store

The Post-Plaza building dating from 1910 was generally known as a beautiful but commercially inaccessible building and a thorn in the side of the City of Ghent. That is, until MG Real Estate rolled up its sleeves and decided to deepen the basement by 2.5 metres, below the level of the waterline of the River Leie. Not to be underestimated from the technical perspective, but the only way to make the building’s basement commercially interesting.

Four retailers are located on the ground floor of De Post/La Poste: Dutch lifestyle brand Sissy Boy, Dutch fashion retailer Men at Work, cosmetics concept Skins Cosmetics and bakery-restaurant Le Pain Quotidien. Albert Heijn moved into the basement.
