Weg vrij voor duurzame ontwikkeling CAT-site in Vilvoorde
Vilvoorde, 21 March 2025 - MG Real Estate and Sobeco have reached an agreement on the further development of the CAT site in Vilvoorde and Machelen. Both parties have found a constructive solution that paves the way for the site’s high-quality redevelopment.
The CAT site, part of the former Renault factory, will be transformed into a vibrant, mixed-use urban district with a strong focus on sustainability, green spaces, residential living, workspaces and leisure facilities. Frank De Kempeneer, owner of Sobeco, will actively participate in the development of the southern section of the site, which is owned by Sobeco.
This agreement marks a significant step forward for the project, accelerating the implementation of the development plans. A key milestone is that the permit for the new AZ Jan Portaels hospital on the site is now final.
With this agreement, both parties are committed to a future-oriented, sustainable development that will contribute to the urban and economic growth of Vilvoorde and Machelen.
